Accessibility for All
Guided by the principles of humanity and sustainability, we strive to ensure equal access to our destination for tourists with reduced mobility, taking into account their mobility, hearing, vision, cognitive abilities, and age. Tourism activities, services, and products are adapted for all visitors to create a unique and inclusive experience.
Tourist locations are therefore equipped with tactile strips, audio guides, Braille maps and texts, adjustable text sizes, leveled thresholds, elevators, lifting platforms, and accessible restrooms. We believe that every visitor deserves the right to an authentic and uninterrupted experience of our diverse offerings, and we are continuously working to improve Međimurje as an accessible destination.

An Example of Inclusive Tourism in Practice – CE Spaces4All Project
Međimurje is increasingly recognized as a model of accessible tourism in Croatia. The Tourist Board of Međimurje County is actively working to ensure that people with disabilities receive equal treatment as all other tourists. As a partner in the three-year CE Spaces4All project, part of the Interreg Central Europe programme, the region is enhancing its tourism infrastructure in line with principles of sustainability and inclusiveness.
The project, which connects 12 partners from seven countries, aims to improve accessibility to tourism content in rural areas. In Međimurje, three pilot locations have been selected – Prelog, Čakovec, and Sveti Martin na Muri – all of which are already showing excellent results.
Hotel Panorama in Prelog has adapted more than half of its rooms for people with disabilities, making it an increasingly popular choice among Paralympic athletes for their training camps.
The "Treasury of Međimurje" museum in Čakovec offers an inclusive experience for visitors with physical and sensory disabilities, supported by specially trained staff.
Terme Sveti Martin has ensured full accessibility to its facilities for people with disabilities, further reinforcing the destination’s inclusive character.
The project also includes the development of a digital tool for mapping physical barriers and the creation of local action plans aimed at long-term accessibility improvements.

Međimurje proves that inclusive tourism is not just a social responsibility, but also a smart development strategy – a destination where every guest feels welcome.
